Fed up of working in Europe? Already worked in Canada and New Zealand and now looking for something different? How about Afghanistan?
Next month Afghanistan will be hosting their second national ski race in Bamiyan's Koh-e-Baba mountain range, to promote ski tourism in the province. Although last year the competitors were locals, this year there will be a number of international racers taking part.
Bamiyan is the first province in Afghanistan to open a tourist office, and the region has seen an increase in the number of guest houses open. Although the region's facilities aren't on par with those of Europe and North America, it's a promising start.
So, next time you're thinking about getting a ski job somewhere a bit different, bear Afghanistan in mind.

The number of British visitors to Austrian ski resorts has increased by 4.5%. The increase is due to the exceptional snow conditions and increases in the number of flight connections.
In November and December over 4 million skiers and snowboarders descended on the country, and the numbers for last month were also pretty good.
After the recent snow falls, the Austrian National Tourist Office are expecting a very successful season with plenty of snow right up to Easter. If you're thinking about getting a ski job for the last few months of the season, this might be the year to try Austria!
