Val d’Isère is one of the most popular resorts with those looking for ski jobs. The reason why is because Val d'Isere, along with Tignes, makes up the Espace Killy, a vast ski area served by one of the most modern lift networks in Europe.
Although Val d’Isère doesn’t have much of a reputation as a beginners resort, there is a fair selection of ‘greens’ to choose from. Once you’ve built up your confidence, head up Madeleine, Datcha or Glacier to try out your newly acquired skills on some of the gentler slopes in resort.
The resort is also known for its superb nightlife, with plenty of bars and clubs to keep you amused. The most famous bars in the resort include Folle Douce above La Daille, and of course the legendary Dick's Tea Bar. Also worthy of note are the Moris Pub for live music and Victor's for cheap cocktails.
Val d’Isère has it all, but it does come at a price. It’s up there with the most expensive resorts in the French Alps, so remember to ask about seasonnaires' discounts!
